Oil on 9"x12" panel. This painting marks the beginning of plein air season for me. Every summer is dedicated to painting the landscape on location with friends and family. Yesterday a few of us went up to Bald Hills Road where the lupine were blooming in mass, blanketing the hill sides, the fragrance was intoxicating.

'Cat for Kat' oil by Rachel Schlueter $75.00
Oil on 6"x6" panel, painted from an image in a cat book, I painted this one in honor of my friend Katherine who has been a constant source of inspiration. The fast and loose approach is one that I feel most describes my passion for painting. Fast and loose does not mean careless it's an approach that is about impulse and intuition it's an adventure that takes me as a painter in a direction that I need to go. Thank you for visiting our blog!
'Neighbor Cat' oil by Rachel Schlueter
SoldOil on 6"x6" panel. Painted from a photo that I took a few days ago during a neighborhood cat walk. I meet the most wonderful cats this way. I'm sure my neighbors are convinced I'm a little off. The cats for the most part enjoy the the schmooze.

PACIFIC COAST MORNING, oil painting by Kathy O'Leary
I saw this scene one morning last winter as I was driving south on the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) from Carmel to Big Sur. The sun was just hitting the rocks and the heavy moisture in the air was beginning to clear.

'Rhode Island Red' by Amy Stewart--SOLD
5 x 7 inch oil on 1/2 inch board. Click here to bid.I've done a series of paintings of my dearly departed Rhode Island Red, Eleanor. In the four years we've had chickens, she's the first one we've lost. As a tribute to her, I did a portrait of her on my chicken coop--and I did several smaller portraits first to practice. Over the next few weeks, I'll post those portraits here. The poses are very similar, but they're all different sizes and slightly different backgrounds.
And--I'm trying something new on eBay--99 cent minimum bids! That's right, the bidding starts at practically nothing. You decide what you want to pay. Good luck!
Please note that this painting will ship on June 2. If you have any questions or concerns about shipping times, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Oh--and this painting is ready to hang without framing if you want to--there's a slot in the back so you can easily hang it on a nail.

'FLUFF' oil by Rachel Schlueter
SoldOil on 6"x6" panel. I found this adorable image years ago in an old book of black and white cat photos, I enjoy bringing color to a monochromatic image, that way it becomes my creation.
I've painted this image before using an entirely different palette, the first one is published in my new little book ' Cats like Us' Thanks for visiting!
'BLACK CAT' oil by Rachel Schlueter $75.00
Oil on 6"x6" panel. This painting was also inspired by a found image from a newer book on cats. I particularly like the colors that reflect of the coat of a black cat and the way the eyes sparkle in contrast to the dark hues.

"Westport, Mendocino Coast" by Linda Mitchell SOLD

6" x 9" oil on panel SOLD
Westport is a tiny town perched on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, located around 40 minutes north of Mendocino. I spent a week in Westport last summer, painting with friends. While we were there, several fires broke out around us, one just over the hill in back of the house. While it led to some tense moments, we also got to see golden, eerily beautiful skies and landscapes.
