'Pine Cone Ball' Oil painting by Rachel Schlueter

$75.00
Howdy, posting from Weaverville CA. Been camping and painting all month.
Our paintings will be featured in July at the Highland Art Center, Weaverville, CA. It's been an amazing adventure, seen lots of wildlife and rescued an infant scrub jay from an untimely death. A Raven was quick to hear the cries, a Jay had fallen from it's nest, we watched as the whole seen unfolded with in a few minutes time. What could I do but interfere? 'Juno' is doing fine, and almost grown up already, Stock and I will stay at camp until Juno can feed himself and return to the wild. 6"x6" oil on panel

"Eleanor Again" by Amy Stewart--$40--SOLD

8 x 10 oil on board. Buy it now for $40 plus $5 shipping in the US, $10-$15 international, via Priority Mail.

This is the third of a set of portraits I did of my Rhode Island Red hen Eleanor to practice for a larger painting I did directly on my chicken coop. This one is 8 x 10 on art board. I think it's my favorite of the three. Or did I say that about the other two also?

'Pine Cone' oil by Rachel Schlueter

Sold
oil on 6"x6" panel. Been camping along the Trinity river all week, Stock and I are back for Open Studios, then we will head- out for three weeks to paint on location along the river and in the mountains. It's been a beautiful week of partly cloudy skies and pleasant warm spring weather. I felt this cone was the perfect subject for a small painting.

LUPINE PATH, Oil Painting by Kathy O'Leary

This scene was painted on a 9 X 12 canvas covered wood panel. It is the last in a series of paintings done on location along side two other Northern California Artists (Rachel Schlueter & Linda Mitchell of this blog). The spectacular lupine bloom was on the Bald Hills Road at the South Eastern end of Redwood National Park. SOLD

CALIFORNIA SKYSCAPE, Oil Painting by Kathy O'Leary

This painting is 8 X 10 on canvas covered panel. It's a scene from my Central California travels last September. I couldn't resist the grassy oak knoll under puffy clouds in the brilliant late summer blue sky. SOLD

"HILLSIDE EUCALYPTUS", Oil Painting by Kathy O'Leary

This painting is a scene from my travels through Central California last Fall. I loved the light hitting the tree trunks and branches as it was filtered through the leaves and surrounding bushes. I find the Eucalyptus, while not a 'native' California tree, to be one of the more colorful and interesting trees to paint. This painting is 8 X 10 on canvas covered panel. SOLD

"OAKS UNDER PASSING CLOUDS", Painting by Kathy O'Leary

This is an 8 X 10 oil painting on canvas covered panel. It's a painting of a scene from the rural ranch lands of Central California. Violet clouds passed in front of the sun and gave the hillside and oaks a deep rich color without the usual shadows. The blue sky behind the clouds offered a nice complement to the ocher colored grasses. SOLD

This painting was inspired by an article in Eureka's Times Standard, regarding an especially spectacular wild lupine bloom on the north coast's Bald Hills. I traveled to the area, which is an hour northeast of Eureka, with Kathy O'Leary and Rachel Schlueter last week to paint the lupine en plein air.
