SUNRISE OVER THE VALLEY, oil painting by Kathy O'Leary

This is another painting from my recent trip to the Feather River Land Trust paint out in Northeastern California. Getting up early to photograph the sun rising over Genesee Valley, where the Heart K Ranch is located, I found this beautiful scene of brilliant morning light hitting the grasses and emphasizing the deep shadows cast by the large old pine trees.
