.........'Beaches Along The Redwood Highway'......... Show by Steve Porter /This Friday/Upstairs gallery Arcata Arts Alive

'Beaches Along The Redwood Highway'   A show of Paintings from the last three months will be on Exhibit at the Umpqua Gallery ( Umpqua bank)  G street in Arcata Though This month. The opening will be this friday The 12th during Arts Alive Arcata. I Hope all of you can come.  The Paintings were all painted along The Old Redwood Highway in Trinidad.  I love that nostalgic name.

'Camel Rock Late Light" by Steve Porter

I find it amusing when some so called experts say your  not supposed to use white with watercolor. Tell that to homer, sargent or zorn.  I used it here over the dark areas of the rocks and has a nice effect.11" by 15" watercolor

The background trees I thought needed more work , but then I decided to  just leave it because I may end up ruining the wash.  Its a fine line between knowing when to quit and going too far  (which I have done too many times)   As in music ,  sometimes you play too many notes.
