BACK ROAD IN WINTER LIGHT by Kathy O'Leary

This is a scene from a drive through the Petaluma, California countryside one Winter day. Petaluma is a good sized city sitting alongside a major north/south highway. But it's surrounding countryside continues to be mainly rolling hills, with ranches and dairy farms dotting the area. On this day everything looked moist and soft. The violets of the deciduous plants and shrubs offered such a beautiful soft color complement to the greens of the grasses, trees and hillsides that I couldn't resist painting it. The painting is 8 x 10 on canvas covered panel. SOLD
