I saw this bowl of persimmons sitting on a table at a historic Spanish-style home in Santa Barbara called Casa del Herrero. It looked like it was just sitting there waiting to be painted. Anyone who has toured this home will know that I cheated a little and didn't paint the ornate design on the tiles in the background! Well, it was all about the persimmons. (Go see it, by the way, if you are ever in Santa Barbara. The gardens are amazing and the home has a fascinating story behind it.)
This is a 5 x 7" oil on board -- a half inch board with dovetail slots on the back to make it easy to hang. The sides are painted black so you can hang it unframed if you like.
