This is a scene I painted after a drive to our local mountains east of Humboldt Bay last October. We've got lots of Black Oaks in our region and in Autumn the leaves of these trees turn a beautiful burnt orange before they drop. The scene caught my attention because the oaks were set against the soft blues of the distant hillside. A great natural color complement I couldn't pass up. This painting measures 8 x 10 and is done on primed masonite panel.
