SPRING'S ARRIVAL, Oil Painting by Kathy O'Leary

Spring is announced annually in our region by the iridescent fields of wild mustard bursting forth on the farm lands adjacent to the Eel River, near its mouth, just south of Humboldt Bay. This river valley was settled by dairy farmers and ranchers in the mid to late 1800's. Some of the same families continue today, many producing certified organic milk and beef. It is one of the loveliest regions along our north coast, but in early Spring it becomes spectacular, from an artist's view, when the mustard and wild radish are in bloom. I try to paint it every year. This painting measures 8 x 10, and is done on canvas panel. SOLD
