AFTERNOON ON ELKHORN SLOUGH Oil Painting by Kathy O'Leary

This is a scene from a recent trip along the Southern and Central California coast. Elkhorn Slough is a protected region of Moss Landing, a small bay with extensive wetlands just north of Monterey. During my afternoon drive around the slough I came upon this stand of Eucalyptus trees growing right to the edge of the multicolored wetlands vegetation that ring the slough. The addition of the reflections and the blues of the water, sky and background hills made it picture perfect. SOLD
