After picking this gladiola from our garden, I noticed
the colors appear vibrant on our studio wall.
I focused on the two largest blossoms taking note
of color, shapes and angles as I worked. It wasn't
until completion that it became apparent that
these blossoms have attitude.
This was painted from life on a 7x5'' pre-gessoed white Panel with wet into wet oil paint.
Glads are celebs in my garden-you paint them so beautifully!
