I'm always attracted to unusual or interesting light for my paintings. This is a scene from a trip to the southern region of my home county (Humboldt). Unlike the coast, much of Southern Humboldt has more typical 'California' environs - Oak studded grassy hills, rivers, sunshine. The sun dipping below the hills spotlighted a small section of hillside creating a glow and leaving the rest of the scene, trees, grasses in muted shades of violet and greens. This painting measures 8 x 10 and is done on canvas covered panel. SOLD
