Bartlett Pear on Plate by Andrew Daniel

Painting pears is fascinating to me, because they have such great color variances and the shape is so sensual. I wanted to see what painting on a rough surface would do to my painting style. It was fun to let the aesthetic be rougher around the edges.

    What a beauty! Love the way you used the grain (and hole) of the wood
    to the advantage of the composition.

    Thanks Rachel and Terry! The texture does add a satisfying tactile experience to the piece compared to others I have recently created.
