Bartlett Pair On Powder Blue by Andrew Daniel

I thought it would be fun to make up some colored surfaces to place still life objects on. So, I painted some pieces of card board with Alice's left over paint samples. It was really nice to set this yellow and green Bartlett Pear on a powder blue background. You know what else was nice is how patiently that pear sat there and waited for me to finish the painting. It didn't ask for breaks or scratch it's nose. I could really get into painting still life!

If this painting is interesting to you can find it listed in my Etsy Shop.

  1. I admire the way your brushwork conveys shimmering light on
your subject plus your decision to place the pear near the
bottom right-hand corner as opposed to centering it. It feels
    playful to my eye.
