"Silas" by RK Schlueter
Oil on TWICE previously painted panel. I can not say enough about the immense joy I am finding in painting over old work. I have often felt bad about all the unresolved paintings I've done, they lay around forever as waste, I know a certain amount is necessary but I am tired of seeing so much waste in the world. By recycling the old I have improved my situation, I feel better about the creative process which is such a huge part of my life.

So cute! I love the gesture of Silas...as if he's stopped in his tracks...eyes like saucers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Francie, they are the canniest.
ReplyDeleteYour cat is delightful. I totally agree with your sentiments about waste and reusing. I'm going to do more of it as well.
ReplyDeleteThe painting is charming. It feels like the transitory catness is frozen in time!
ReplyDeleteIt can be very cathartic to clean out the old unresolved pieces. I think it is very healthy for an artist to do!
