"MENDOCINO JUNE" by Alicia Tredway

This 9 x 12 inch oil was started plein air last June and finished today in the studio from photo reference.
I'm painting from the graveyard on the hill looking down on the houses. The sun is high and the fog beginning to burn off. The distant trees are just emerging. It's a great place to paint...the grounds are well kept.....and as you can imagine it's very quiet. A lovely group of women tend to the upkeep. There is heavy palette knife work throughout.
