This is a scene from a Spring trip I took through Sonoma, a major grape growing and agricultural region of Northern California. I loved the contrast between the field of wild mustard and the dark backdrop of the Eucalyptus trees. After Winter I'm usually tired of the cold and damp, and look for landscapes to paint that say Spring has arrived. This one says it all. This painting measures 9 x 12 and is done on linen panel.
