Allen Pond with Fog at the Arcata Marsh painting by Andrew Daniel

I've been fascinated by the morning for lately. It gives me the opportunity to paint multiple color schemes in the same painting. Muted grays and whites in the background and vibrant greens in the fore. The marsh is a great spot to explore these ideas.

This painting measures 5" x 7"(13cm x 18cm) and is painted in oil paint on a piece of Baltic Birch wood panel that measures 1/2" deep. It has a simple homemade slat wood frame.

This item is available in my online store.

  1. Andrew, I appreciate how you dare to paint the vivid colors and luminous neutrals
that the fog, seemingly ironically, brings out in our
area. I've been working on a landscape for years trying to capture
    those two qualities
and I finally threw in the towel because it just didn't 'read'.
I'll be attempting another one soon.
In the meantime, I look forward to seeing more of yours.
