I painted this in the late afternoon light of late summer 2011. Our small apple orchard not only bears good fruit, I have found it an interesting subject many times over the years. I worked on location for several weeks at the same time of day when the light was right. Our dog lay in the same spot each day. The perfect model.  Oil on linen 24x30
