Sun Lit Rocks on the Mad River by Theresa Oats

Strong afternoon sunlight was illuminating these boulders as I painted on the Mad River.  I worked with oils, plein air on  24x18 inch stretched prepared linen.
I submitted this piece along with another landscape I painted on the Mad River to possibly be selected for a show titled 'Best of Humboldt Landscape' curated by Alan Sanborn at the Morris Graves Museum of Art.                                                                                                                                                            The paintings of many local landscape artists will be featured including Jim McVicker,  Kathy O'leary, Stock Schleuter, Steve Porter, Ken Jarvela, John Palmer, John Crater, Judy Evenson, Julia Bednar, Delores Terry, Ralphie Hendrix, Alicia Tredway, George VanHook,  Eric Fidjeland, and Lisa Marie Waters.
The show runs from May 3 through June 24 and of course will be open for Saturday Arts Alive!!!
