"Prince of a Guy" pastel by Ralphie Hendrix

"Prince of a Guy",  7 X 5 in 10 X 8 mat, pastel, $100.
Prince was a feral cat that my son saved from a sad life while living in the Bay area. He was a gentle, sweet guy that had had a tough life. I painted several pictures of him but this one taught me about"local" color. It's the color right up against shadow but it's not quite the same color as the light. My son had a bright yellow wall in his kitchen and the "local" color was orange. This is a 7 X 5 set in a 10 X 8 mat.

  3. You truly captured Prince. His stately manner, his face & coloring. It is like the first time I saw him over 13 years ago.
Your painting has refreshed my memory of Prince among cats.

    The aforementioned son, Jason
