About 8 of us including my husband Jim McVicker went to the Sierras and painted 'plein air'. Salmon Lake had a beautiful shoreline and I was particularly taken with this rocky strip of land jutting out from the shoreline as the late light lit it from behind, creating high contrast and intensified colors.
I painted this on location with oils on a 12x16'' prepared wood panel.
