'Rose Leaves" by Theresa Oats

The morning sun offered back lighting to the multi hued leaves on the rose bushes in our garden.
There are no rose blossoms yet, but the various shaped leaves glowed with warm tones against
the cool shadows of the gray wall behind them.
I painted 'plein air' with oils on a prepared 9x12'' wood panel.
This will be one of the paintings in my exhibit at the Sewell Gallery on 'F' Street in Eureka which begins this wednesday.  There will be an 'Arts Alive!' public reception on Saturday the 6th of May.
