'El Capitan' by Rachel K Schlueter

Oil on 6"x8" panel. Painted en plein air March 2006. Yosemite early spring - late winter is a good time to visit and paint, it's pretty quiet. The snowfall is beautiful to see too and gives a crisp dimension to plein air work. El Capitan is awesome to see, it's the largest granite block in the world. I hope to get back to Yosemite. Thanks to all my hardcore plein air painter friends for showing me the way!

  1. I recognized this one right off! Isn't that neat with so little context?
