This is a huge blossom from one of our rose bushes in the front yard. I brought it in my studio along with it's stem and leaves and painted by the west window. It's 'satin-like' petals and leaves reflect the light shining on them and accentuate the 'vim for living' personality of the rose.
I painted on a 10x14 oil on prepared canvas panel.
It's now displayed at the Sewell Gallery on 423 'F' Street in Eureka for the month of May in my show titled 'Images from Life'.
So lovely, Terry, and the background greys are the perfect pitch.
