We planted a group of tulip bulbs in a large clay pot at the edge of our garden. Most blossomed at the same time. I painted these blossoms over a weeks time and enjoyed the challenge of representing them as vibrantly as they appeared in the silver light of our grey days.

This painting and others will be on display in my exhibit at the Sewell Gallery on 423 F Street in Old Town Eureka through Sunday May 26.
