"Shack out on 101" pastel by Ralphie Hendrix
This title is actually a play on words. It’s the name of a very old
movie from back in the 50’s. You can see places like this along the
highway away from the cities. I like them as there’s an air of mystery
about them. Abandoned and slowly melting back into the landscape they
sprang from. You wonder who lived there, what were they trying to do and
why did they leave. And then there’s the painting challenge of
depicting the mood of an abandoned homestead.
