Foggy October at Gearheart Marsh by Andrew Daniel

"Foggy October at Gearheart Marsh" by Andrew Daniel
9" x 12" (23cm x 30cm) oil on wood panel

I have been dreaming of building painting platform to go on top of my car for 15 years. Yesterday I decided I would go ahead and make it, instead of painting. Today I got to test it out. It was so fun to be up so high! The elevation stretches the foreground and middle-ground, so that I don't have a small band of land and a huge sky.

  1. Andrew, What a great idea. Now the rest of us artists will start building roof top platforms. It's like the first skylight that goes in and we all see the light! Mark Dalessio's has a platform on his vehicle. Nice painting too.

  2. Very ingenious and pragmatic of you! And the painting doesn't look distorted...like from an impossible viewpoint. I like the painting. Distance buildings are wonderfully subtle.

  3. Thanks you guys! Yah, lets all build them and then we can converge on one spot and amaze the passers by!
