"Salt Marsh Trees" by Andrew Daniel

Wonders of technology! I'm out backpacking with my daughter and her friend's family near Bend, Oregon. Yet, it is still possible to post this with my phone! I painted this looking out at the salt marshes in the arcata marsh. This group of trees have been calling to me for several months, but I always thought the colors were too muted to make an interesting painting. Lately tho, I've been deliberately exploring muted colors in my work. They restrained color palette feels indicative of Humboldt, and when I paint them, they feels somehow more expressive.
