'Boots' by RK Schlueter

Oil on canvas
Painted with brush and palette knife. The juxtaposed effects of knife against brush is what, I feel, makes this painting interesting. Somehow, the bold knife work around the cat supports the softer image. Not planned, just one of those happy accidents. 'Boots' will be on exhibit at First Street Gallery in Dec.

  1. The way you paint this cat with the loosely painted body and realistically painted eyes... fascinates me because the cat (within my perception) has the presence of a live being. I think what YOU've done with the loose/tight technique combo really works!
