I had gotten this far with the painting when I had to leave town for Klamath Falls. When I got home I looked at the painting and realized it was done.
Iv'e looked at this several times and love you decision process on what to do loosely and what to do tight. Your technique and other decisions (such as compositional placement ) sure convey a 'surprised' or startled expression!
