All the fires this summer had me concerned for the Bear Basin Fire Lookout north of Gasquet Ca. and a spot myself and several friends have spent many days over the years, enjoying the place and making many paintings and photos. The lookout and cabin were saved but so much burned around it. I took a dog of a painting I had painted looking east from the lookout and painted over the image what I thought the fire may have looked like. The place will be so different looking when we go again next year. 12x16 oil on linen panel.
