This is a scene from a trip I took a couple of years ago with about 8 other women artists. We lived and painted along the coast between Westport and Mendocino for a week. I often look for trees to include in the landscapes I paint and this lovely little stand of Eucalyptus and Coastal Cypress was a perfect foil to the rolling hills and ranch lands dotting California's North Coast along Highway 1. This painting is 9 x 12 and done on linen covered panel.

Very nice composition. I like how the trees diminish in size mimicking the slope of the hill. This would make a wonderful large painting.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
Your paint appears to glow. Nice composition! (as usual)
ReplyDeleteTrees are such a riddle for me, you do them so well!
