From my hometown on Humboldt Bay, one can always find an interesting view and something to paint. This scene is from one of the few sunny days last winter on the bay. I was looking toward Indian Island from Woodley Island at high tide. There was just a glimpse of the last of the homes on the island. The red color of the winter pickleweed added additional interest to what could be a gray and colorless scene. This painting is 8 x 10 on panel. SOLD

I like the sun soaked grass and aqua tinted sky and water, the design, subject and color create a peaceful mood.
