This painting was in an exhibit years ago and my husband was so happy it hadn't been purchased I gave it him as a gift.I painted this when we worked in the 'C' Street studio building in a north light window.
It was the month of a rainy cold January. The coral petals of the amaryllis lent a tropical
touch to my studio and a translucent rich color palette for my brush and paint to emulate as I worked wet into wet oil paint.
