Anne Mendenhall by Theresa Oats
Anne lives in the same neighborhood where our previous studio(C Street Studios)is located. She is well informed, fun to talk to, and a talented artist. The only place she shows her work is in the window of her modest building. The window doesn't even face the street. I miss the opportunities to converse with Anne. She is fascinating to talk with about life, local history, art and other subjects. Anne posed for me in my studio on C street by a north light window. Not only is she a wonderful subject, she is what painters call 'a great sitter' (which basically means holding a position well and long).I painted with oils, from life, on 24''canvas paper.
