'Gray Day' by Jim McVicker
This is a 7x10 watercolor I painted this summer at the north end of Trinidad State Beach. This past week I spent time reworking it in the studio. It has turned into an opaque watercolor which has an entirely different feel except that I kept the same composition. The painting now has so much more atmosphere and mood. It is a very interesting way to work with watercolor. I often do that when I like the design of a watercolor but the rest of the painting just doesn't work. One never knows where it might take you.

It looks like an oil. Love the light and intimacy!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I like working on Yupo.
