10 x 8 inches oil on lead prime panel. Painted with a nice group of plein air painters and tackled something I've consistently avoided painting. Redwood old growths are massive and breathtaking but the fact remains they go straight up in the air lining up perfectly with the canvas edge and can make for a boring painting. Hope I didn't do that.
Alicia, this is a wonderful painting. You captured the enormity of the redwoods by including figures. The slight lean of the middle tree offsets the straight trunks of its companions. I can almost feel the texture of their shaggy bark. Well done!
