Wyoming Cottonwoods by Susan Fox SOLD
Wyoming Cottonwoods oil on canvasboard 8"x6"- I love the effect of sun on trees with dark clouds in the background, so this was fun to paint. Click to bid here
Because there's no marine influence, the light is more intense and saturated. The air is so clear that in order to make the Grand Tetons look like they are in the distance in a painting, I was told in a workshop to add "atmospheric perspective", though there was none to be seen, even almost 15 miles from the mountains.
It's a real different environment for our coastal California eyes and fun to paint.
Wow! Has everyone been to Wyoming but me? Beautiful.
