
This original oil painting is 8 X 10 on canvas covered panel. Painted en plein air (on location) this past Sunday, its a scene from the oak and meadow region above Redwood National Park along California's far north coast. The lupines are profuse this year, supposedly a one in 50 year event. It was heaven painting among the lilac colored lupine with bees buzzing everywhere, surrounded by the sweet perfume of the flowers.

This reminds me of some CA landscape paintings from the 1940s or so, like W. K. Jackson. I love it!
