This is a painting done from a photograph I took on a grassy overlook on the Elkhorn Slough Wildlife Refuge at Moss Landing, Northern California. Known mostly by the locals, it's a beautiful region of mudflats, tidal water flows, rich with bird life and surrounded by chaparral, trees and wild grasses.
