Oil on 5x9"canvas. Painted alla prima. Flowers are one of my favorite things in life, painting them does not come easy, I feel intimidated by their delicate luminous beauty, so vibrant and so fragile. I've been putting it off for as long as I've been painting. Terry Oats has been an inspiration, in her work and Georgia O'Keeffe's flower paintings I see an approach that is unique and more about expressing the feeling of a flower which must be profound. I'm going for it in hopes that the love and the fascination will come through in oils ...why else paint?
