Three Roses by Frances Kuta

Recently I bought a bouquet of roses at the grocery store, mixed colors of pink, white, orange, yellow. I set them up in this still life, painted it then put the roses in a vase. They continued to open and stay beautiful longer than I ever hoped. Everyday they greeted me as I entered my studio....looking prettier than the day before. 8" x 10" oil on linen panel.

  1. Roses in a line, never seen a composition like that that before! Very cool.

  2. Like the combination of the straight row of defined roses combined with a background
that is enough defined so you think you know what you're looking
at but at closer inspection is alive with transition.
