Afternoon Rest by Frances Kuta

I've been working on a collection of Victorian paintings over the last 7 months....my show opens June 4th at Highland Art Center in Weaverville, Ca. I posed models in my studio in costume...it's been a challenge...and fun! This is the first time I've concentrated on a body of work with a theme in mind. It is interesting what develops along the way. This is one of my favorites. 12" x 16" oil on linen.

  2. What a beautiful piece. Love how you painted the
figure so languidly as well as the dress and feeling of the room.
Also love what's going on out the window!

The shadows and lights in that white skirt are beautiful.
