Skull with Life is one of many in my Ofrenda series that will be on display October and November at 208 C Street Hall Gallery and Studios in Eureka, we will host an Ofrenda exhibit in celebration of Dia de Los Muertos. Reception, will be Friday, Sept.30 from 6-9p. and Saturday night Arts Alive! October 1st 6-9p. Day of the Dead: Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed on. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday. Traditions connected with the holiday include building altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, candles, Marigolds and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and often visiting graves with these as gifts.
