Labor Day 2011, by guest artist Jim McVicker

Terry and I were visiting my father in the LA area this past
September. As I walked along his driveway late afternoon on
Labor Day, I was struck by this image of the sun glowing
through the flag. The stucco homes, bougainvillea, manicured
shrubs, lawn and flag seemed so quintessential Southern California
I could not resist painted it. It measures 12x9. This painting along
with a larger landscape will be exhibit at the California Art Club's
101st Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition, March 31st-April 22nd
at the Autry National Center of the American West in Los Angles.
