'Down Slope' pastel by Ralphie Hendrix

Back in October, a small group of artists traveled up into the Sierras for some magnificent opportunities to paint simply awesome views. I was fortunate enough to be able to go. There are lots of views like this where the color on a bright sunny day can simply take your breath away. I couldn’t believe how incredibly dark blue the sky was but up at around 6 to 7000 feet the air is thin and air pollution is minimal. This image is 7 X 5 set in a 10 X 8 mat.
