'Dawn' by Theresa Oats

I painted 'Dawn' over a period of several winters and into early spring.   Common birds flying over the valley were crows, ravens and turkey vultures.  Once in a while a 'Kite' flew by.  Their white feathers
were luminous in mid-air with the early sun light rising in the distance..
I did a very quick sketch on the painting, consisting of about 5 marks representing it's presence and worked it out later in my studio.
Oil on linen 24''by 12''

  1. Once again, you've created an exquisite piece, Terry. Beyond representation of the landscape, you capture the essence. Great job! Carrie

  2. I'm with Carrie, Wonderful artwork.
