Steve Porter, Paul Rickard and I spent the day plein air painting in Trinidad and the afternoon painting down at College Cove Beach. John Crater even rowed up to the beach in his kayak. It was a warm, calm, sunny day with lots of people enjoying the beach. I was painting watercolors and struggling with the medium as well as feeling very frustrated. Later in the studio I realized this sketch worked and had a quality about it that I like. watercolor on paper 10x14 1/2
I feel this painting has lively surreal quality, love it.
