Sunset and Mist by Theresa Oats


Winter is my favorite time to paint the landscape because the low light creates strong
contrasts. I painted this in oils on an 11x6 prepared wood panel of the land behind our home.

    You captured the essence of the storm . The mad ferocious sky and the beautiful green vegetation enlightened with the water it is receiving . Love this painting.

    The colors float and create a dazzling logic. I'm especailly attracted to the crimson, cobalt, and lavender against the moss, salmon and taupe. What a dance!
