'An Afternoon Conversation' by Jim McVicker
Last week I went up to Bear Basin Butte Lookout with a few friends. Most of the time we were sitting in the clouds and mist hardly able to see 100 feet. I tried one painting but the surface was so wet the oil paint slipped all over. At last the sun broke through and we had less than a day and a half of sun before we had to pack up and leave. I painted quickly and did six oil sketches. This was one I painted in the late afternoon as Bill, Morgan and Myckle were sitting, conversing and enjoying the sun. I posted all the paintings on my blog. Oil on panel 12x16 http://mcvickerpaintings.blogspot.com/

I love this painting! Staying true to the squinted eye and sending what the brain thinks it knows 'out to lunch.'
ReplyDeleteI love it too, such a happy feeling.
ReplyDeleteI need to say a bit more about this painting, I think it is superb and i want it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alicia and Rachel. It's one of those quick paintings that really fell together. Great models as well. Jim
